ATTENTION: 2017 WINYAH BAY FESTIVAL INFORMATION
that we will not be holding the festival in 2017 but WILL be hosting the 2017 South Carolina Duck Calling Contest on March 4 on Front Street in Francis Marion Park from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. The contest will include the Junior Duck Calling Contest as well. This event will be in conjunction with the final weigh-in of the 2017 Carhartt Bassmaster College Southern Conference Regional Tournament sponsored by Bass Pro. The weigh-in will occur shortly after the S.C.Duck Calling Contest is completed. Sounds like an exciting afternoon! Please join us!

Highlighting the contributions of Thomas G. Samworth focusing on the achievements and accomplishments through his work as publisher, conservationist, photographer, naturalist, firearms expert and much more.

The primary goals of the Festival are:
*To provide financial assistance to the Georgetown County Museum and Historical Society.
* This event is a celebration of our Low Country Heritage: the natural and cultural riches that make this area unique.
Cattails and Cocktails will be held on the grounds of Dirleton Plantation, at the Samworth Wildlife Management Area off of Hwy 707.
From Georgetown, proceed north on U.S. Highway 701 for about 8 miles. Turn right after crossing Black River (across from Phillips 66 gas station). Follow the paved road 5.5 miles. Look for a brown binocular sign and turn right (Samworth Loop Road). Follow the signs to the WMA headquarters. If coming from Conway, on 701 turn left at Plantersville onto S-22-52 for about 6 miles. Turn left at the entrance and follow the signs.
